Aamir Khan's film delayed due to CBFC cuts dispute

Aamir Khan's next film, Sitaare Zameen Par, has hit a snag with the censor board, which could affect its planned release on June 20, 2025. Directed by R.S. Prasanna and inspired by the Spanish movie Champions, the story follows Khan as a coach for specially-abled kids. This marks his big-screen return after three years away from acting.

TL;DR

'I am a cinema guy,' says Khan

Even with the delay, Sitaare Zameen Par is set for an exclusive theatrical release across about 3,000 screens in India. Khan is sticking to his love for cinema halls—he shared, "I am a cinema guy." The film already has a 12A rating from the British Censor Board, so anyone 12 and up can catch it when it finally lands.
