Ahead of the release of Tere Ishk Mein, director Aanand L Rai recently spoke about the film's characters. The movie stars Dhanush and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. During a recent interview, Rai was asked about comparisons between his film and Kabir Singh and Animal, considering they all feature aggressive, passionate male leads. He acknowledged some similarities but emphasized that they are merely "ingredients" for storytelling.

Rai told The Hindu, "It doesn't belong to the same space. There are similarities in how the characters have aggression and rage. But those are just the ingredients and not the story." He added, "I never found Dhanush's character in Raanjhanaa to be a stalker. It is just my perspective of a boy from Benaras, and that is his expression." "Characters are bound to have flaws. I am just telling a human story. This is not Ramayana or Mahabharata."

'Tere Ishk Mein' cast and crew promote film in Delhi
The promotional tour for Tere Ishk Mein recently took the cast and crew to Delhi, where most of the film was shot. Dhanush, Sanon, and Rai participated in a media press conference, sharing behind-the-scenes stories from filming and discussing their experiences. Speaking about his character, Dhanush said, "Shankar is very easy to like, but he has his very own challenges which I cannot say much about now."

Produced by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar under the T-Series banner, along with Rai and Himanshu Sharma's Colour Yellow, Tere Ishk Mein is set to hit theaters on November 28, 2025. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. It features music by AR Rahman and lyrics by Irshad Kamil.
