What's the story

Akshay Kumar is on a movie-signing spree. After being roped in for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Rowdy Rathore 2 and Farhad Samji's Bachchan Pandey, the superstar will now reunite with Baby director Neeraj Pandey. According to media reports, the actor-director duo will be collaborating for a thriller movie based on Ajit Doval, the current National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India. Here's more.

Information

Doval is the fifth National Security Advisor to the PM

For the uninitiated, Doval is the fifth NSA. He also served as the Director of Intelligence Bureau in 2004-05. Notably, the 2016 surgical strike across the Line Of Control and the 2019 Balakot airstrike were conducted under his supervision.

Script

Scripting has begun for Neeraj's next directorial

The movie would focus on Doval's career achievements, and the scripting has begun for the same. However, there is a long way to go before the movie hits the floors. "Neeraj will first make Chanakya with Ajay Devgn. Akshay also has to complete prior commitments. The team wants to lock the script before making an official announcement," a source told Mumbai Mirror.

Movies

Neeraj, Akshay have worked together in 'Special 26', 'Baby'

This isn't the first time that Neeraj will be directing the Mission Mangal actor. The duo has earlier worked together in Special 26 and Baby. In 2016, Akshay had also announced Neeraj's third directorial collaboration with him, which was expected to release in August 2017. However, the movie was, reportedly, shelved later. Apart from this, Neeraj has also produced Akshay-starrer Rustom and Naam Shabana.

Information

Meanwhile, Akshay is looking forward to three big releases this year. The PadMan actor will be seen in Mission Mangal, Good News and Housefull 4 in 2019. Besides, he is also working on Rohit Shetty's cop drama Sooryavanshi and Raghava Lawrence's Lakshmi Bomb.
