'It happened some four years back...'
Khurrana revealed that filmmakers contacted him for Thamma long before the release of some of Maddock's biggest horror-comedy hits. He said, "It happened some four years back, before the release of Munjya, Stree 2, and Bhediya." "So four years ago, it just blew my mind. I was very excited, and it was different from my filmography because I have done a lot of realistic films."

'This is like a coming-of-age story...'
Khurrana added, "So this is like a coming-of-age story of a guy next door with a typical superhero arc and I think that film is very exciting." He also shared that he was drawn to the project because he is a huge fan of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. "My brother Aparshakti is a part of it and my friends are there," he said.
Role challenges
On most challenging part of 'Thamma'
When asked about the most challenging part of Thamma, Khurrana said it was mostly the action scenes. "I have never done such a crazy action before." He added, "Though I have done action as an action hero and that was very realistic. But this was very fantastical, jumping around and those crazy moments." The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal.
