One of the most notable actors, comedians, and film producers, Paresh Rawal, is not only a well-known name in India but in many countries worldwide. Hailing from Mumbai, Rawal started his career in the film industry in 1985 with the movie 'Arjun' as a supporting actor. The next year, he was seen in the blockbuster film 'Naam' that gave him fame and attention in Hindi cinema. After the release of 'Naam', there was no looking back for Rawal. He was cast in 'Andaz Apna Apna' for a double role and went on to appear in more than a hundred movies throughout the decade. Later, in 2000, he was featured in 'Hera Pheri', which gave him fame as a comedian. Over the next decade, he appeared in many successful as well as flop films. However, his role in the 2012 film 'OMG: Oh My God!', which was a success at the Box Office, was much appreciated. In 2018, he played the role of Sanjay Dutt's father in his biopic 'Sanju'. In 2020, he was appointed the Chairperson of the National School of Drama by President Ram Nath Kovind.
