What's the story

Bobby Deol, who is currently seen in Bandar, recently opened up about his character, Samar. In an interview with Zoom, he stressed that Samar is a "flawed character" and not perfect. "Nobody is perfect. But that doesn't mean you have committed a crime just because your morals are very uncertain," he said. The drama is helmed by Anurag Kashyap.

Gender dynamics

Is 'Bandar' biased against any gender?

Deol also clarified that Bandar isn't biased against any gender. "It's not that women are better or men are better. It's about the laws that have to be used the right way; people take advantage of that." "Somewhere we're trying to figure out that the law has been written in such a way that if...someone wants to take advantage of it, they can." "That's what the message is...but it's not trying to put women down or make men sound better."

Acting challenge

Deol on challenges of playing Samar

Deol admitted that playing Samar was a tough role for him. He said, "For me, it was a very challenging character to play something like this." "Because usually, it would be something like how I was in Animal or how I was in The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Even Ashram was a tough character to play." Despite the challenges, he enjoys such roles as they are different from his real-life persona.
