'Mastiii 4': CBFC asks for these changes in sex comedy
What's the story
The much-awaited sex comedy Mastiii 4, directed by Milap Zaveri, hit the screens on Friday. The film stars Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, and Vivek Oberoi. Ahead of its release, concerns arose that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) would demand several cuts. Now, Bollywood Hungama has revealed some of the changes mandated by the board.
Dialogue changes
CBFC's alterations in 'Mastiii 4' dialogues
One of the most controversial dialogues from the trailer, featuring a conversation between Shivdasani and an elderly patient, has been altered. In the original version, the old man says to Shivdasani, "Mujhe jawan ladki ke saath sex karna hai." To which Shivdasani responds, "Lekin aisa karne se maut ho jaayegi," he says, "Marti hai toh mar jaaye saali." As per the source, "In the theatrical version, this entire bit has been toned down."
Name change
'Mastiii 4' character name changed due to double meaning
The insider revealed, "The three women with whom the trio have an affair in Grand Masti are named Rose, Mary, and Marlow." "Read together, their names form a cheeky double meaning in Hindi." "In Mastiii 4, a glamorous character is introduced as Rose-mary Marlow. Her name has now been changed to Rose-mary Carlow." "It is surprising that the censors had no issue with the gag in the second film, released 12 years ago, but have objected to it this time."
