'Dawson's Creek' star selling outfits to pay cancer treatment costs
James Van Der Beek, who played Dawson on "Dawson's Creek," is selling some of his iconic show outfits and keepsakes to help cover his cancer treatment costs.
Diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in 2024, he's putting items like Dawson's prom necklace and the pilot episode outfit up for auction from December 5-7, 2025.
Van der Beek hopes fans will enjoy owning these pieces
Van Der Beek shared that he'd been holding onto these pieces for years but recent "unexpected twists and turns" made him realize it was time.
He hopes fans who've supported him will enjoy owning a bit of TV history.
He missed the reunion due to his illness
Back in September, James had to skip a "Dawson's Creek" reunion because of his illness.
The event raised money for F Cancer and directly helped him out—with Lin-Manuel Miranda even reading his part while James's family attended.
