Justice Jyoti Singh of the Delhi High Court announced that oral arguments in the case have concluded. The court has taken on record all remaining written submissions filed by both parties. Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar, representing Sachdev Kapur, denied claims that assets were siphoned abroad or concealed. He also disputed claims that Kapur had an annual income of ₹60 crore, calling them "inaccurate."
Dispute details
Allegations of asset concealment and will forgery
The dispute began when Kapur's children from his marriage to Kapoor approached the Delhi High Court, alleging that Sachdev Kapur had forged his will. Kapur's mother, Rani Kapur, claimed that Sachdev Kapur reported bank balances of only ₹1.7 crore despite her late son having an annual income of ₹60 crore. Senior Advocate Vaibhav Gaggar, representing Rani, argued it was highly improbable for Kapur to leave his entire personal estate to Sachdev Kapur alone.
