Deol's 'Bandar' to close National Indian Film Festival in Melbourne
Bobby Deol's thriller Bandar, fresh off its June 5 release and currently winning hearts in theaters, will wrap up the National Indian Film Festival of Australia (NIFFA) this year in Melbourne.
Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film has drawn attention since its theatrical release on June 5 for its unconventional narrative and performances, making it a fitting finale for NIFFA's big tour across Australia.
NIFFA toured 9 Australian cities
This year's festival traveled to nine Australian cities, mixing buzzy new movies with restored classics like Manthan in crisp 4K.
Alongside Bobby Deol, Bandar stars Sanya Malhotra and Raj B Shetty, with writing credits from Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee (of Paatal Lok fame).
Plus, NIFFA teamed up with ACMI (Australia's national screen museum) to help bring Indian cinema to even more global fans.
After Melbourne, the festival wraps up in Hobart, Gold Coast, and Brisbane.
