Farhan Akhtar-Shibani Dandekar are now married! Here are first pictures
And the wait is over! Bollywood actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and anchor-singer-actor Shibani Dandekar have finally become man and wife on Saturday. They exchanged vows in a close-knit ceremony at Farhan's father-lyricist Javed Akhtar and the latter's wife-actor Shabana Azmi's Khandala farmhouse. While official photographs aren't out yet, several images from the wedding have surfaced on the internet. Wishing the couple a lifetime of happiness!
No religious wedding took place, couple exchanged vows on stage
An image from their wedding function has gone viral online. Farhan, wearing a black tuxedo, can be seen standing beside Dandekar, who wore a body-hugging red wedding dress with a red veil. They were standing on a stage-cum-altar listening to a man who seemed to be giving a speech. Previous reports said the couple didn't want any religious wedding and would simply exchange vows.

Akhtar recited sweet poem for couple: Report
Reportedly, the groom's father, veteran poet-lyricist Akhtar, recited a beautiful poem for the couple. After exchanging vows, the pair also shook a leg to various Bollywood songs apart from dancing to John Legend's All of Me. Farhan's sister director-producer Zoya Akhtar was also present. Filmmakers Ashutosh Gowariker and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and actors Satish Shah, Amrita Arora, and Saqib Saleem also graced the event.
Hrithik Roshan spotted at venue along with parents
Earlier on Saturday morning, Akhtar was seen arriving at his Khandala farmhouse. Soon, Dandekar's close friend, actor Rhea Chakraborty, also reached the venue donning a floral white outfit. The bride's sisters Anusha and Apeksha also arrived all decked up. Actor Hrithik Roshan, a close friend of Farhan, arrived with his parents: Rakesh Roshan and Pinky Roshan. The Roshans also went for traditional white-themed clothing.
Pastels and whites: The theme for the 'simple' wedding
Farhan's business partner, producer Ritesh Sidhwani, and musical trio Shankar, Ehsaan, and Loy were also spotted at the venue. A source told India Today, "They wanted to keep it as basic and simple as possible. The guests have also been asked to wear easy colors like pastels and whites for the wedding." The couple is likely to have a court marriage on February 21.
