F1 movie's alternate ending revealed, sequel possibility hinted

Director Joseph Kosinski shared that they switched gears to let Pitt's character, Sonny Hayes, win instead—since it felt like a fitting high point for Hayes's career while Pearce is just getting started.

Kosinski also teased that if fans are into it and the movie does well, we might see Hayes and the APXGP team take on new challenges in Baja, Mexico—a totally different vibe from Formula One.
For now though, it all depends on how audiences respond.
