    What's the story

    Yes, it is actually happening!

On Saturday, Bollywood fans were greeted with the much-awaited first look of actors Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi from the upcoming film Ramayana.

The exclusive images—shared by Zoom—showcase the actors in traditional attire, casually strolling by a city lake.

While Pallavi will essay Sita, Kapoor has stepped into the shoes of Lord Rama.

Interestingly, the Nitesh Tiwari directorial has not been officially announced yet.

    Intense preparation

Celebrity fitness trainer Shivoham shared insights into Kapoor's training routine

In the photos published by the portal, Pallavi can be seen elegantly adorned with jewelry and a draped pallu, while Kapoor is seen sporting a purple dhoti and long hair.

Kapoor's transformation for this role is also clearly noticeable, further signifying his commitment to the large-scale project.

Earlier, celebrity fitness trainer Shivoham posted a series of photos highlighting Kapoor's dedication and the impressive physique he achieved through an intense three-year program.

    This is Pallavi-Kapoor's first collaboration.

    Epic production

The multistarrer film will feature several big names

KGF star Yash is aboard the project as a producer, though uncertainty looms large over his role as Ravana.

Other actors rumored to be considered include Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman and Vijay Sethupathi as Vibhishan.

Earlier, some other photos from the set showcased Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, and Sheeba Chaddha decked in traditional attires.

Rakul Preet Singh and Ravi Dubey are also a part of the ensemble, per reports.

    Music

AR Rahman, Hans Zimmer are handling the music

Since Ramayana holds utmost importance for the Hindu community and is a pertinent part of India's religious and cultural fabric, there are mammoth expectations riding on the cast and crew.

A few days ago, a Pinkvilla report further intensified the hype by revealing that the film's music responsibilities will be shouldered by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer, marking the latter's foray into Indian cinema.

    They both are Oscar awardees.

    Upcoming films

Upcoming movies of Kapoor and Pallavi

Kapoor—last seen in the blockbuster Animal in December 2023—also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War and Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal Park in the pipeline.

For the former, he will reunite with his Sanju co-star Vicky Kaushal; the film also stars Alia Bhatt.

As for Pallavi, her next release is Thandel, co-starring Naga Chaitanya.

Ramayana is planned as a trilogy and is scheduled for a Diwali 2025 release.
