Five amazingly talented brother-sister duos currently working in Bollywood
Amid brawling over the tiniest of issues (such as the TV remote) and standing by each other's side in tough times, all brothers and sisters grow up. Honestly, there's something undeniably endearing about all brother-sister relationships. And our favorite tinsel town, Bollywood has no dearth of such bonds. From Saif-Soha to Sonam-Harshvardhan, here's taking a look at five amazingly talented brother-sister pairs in Bollywood.
The list starts with Bollywood's very own royal brother-sister pair. Saif Ali Khan debuted in early 1990s, and went on to do films such as Hum Saath Saath Hain, Dil Chahta Hai, and Being Cyrus. He will now be seen in Navdeep Singh's revenge-drama Laal Kaptaan. On the other hand, younger sister Soha has appeared in films like Rang De Basanti and Tum Mile.
Born to popular actor Jeetendra, Ekta and Tusshar Kapoor are one of the loveliest sibling pairs in Bollywood. While 44-year-old Ekta, the joint MD of Balaji Telefilms, happens to be one of the most successful television and film producers in the country, her brother Tusshar has acted in various films such as Kyaa Kool Hai Hum series, Golmaal series, and Shor in the City.
It won't be wrong to say that talent runs in the Akhtar family's blood. While elder sister Zoya Akhtar has cemented her name as a filmmaker with critically-acclaimed flicks and web-series such as Luck By Chance, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Made in Heaven, brother Farhan is Bollywood's quintessential all-rounder, having donned the hat of a director, actor, writer, singer and producer, all fabulously.
Recently, Zoya's Gully Boy was declared India's official entry to the 92nd Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category. The film, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, is based on the life of Mumbai-based rappers Divine (Vivian Fernandes) and Naezy (Naved Shaikh).
Undoubtedly, the brother-sister duo of Sonam and Harshvardhan Kapoor have inherited style and talent from father and Bollywood's official Mr. India, Anil Kapoor. Fashion icon, Sonam has well established herself in the industry with films such as Delhi-6, Aisha, Raanjhanaa, and National award-winning flim Neerja. On the other hand, 28-year-old Harshvardhan has so far appeared in two films, namely Mirzya and Bhavesh Joshi Superhero.
While Arjun Kapoor made his Bollywood debut back in 2012, his half-sister Janhvi is more of a newcomer, having done her first film (Dhadak), only last year. Arjun has acted in films such as Aurangzeb, 2 States, and Half Girlfriend. He will soon star in Ashutosh Gowarikar's period drama Panipat. Meanwhile, Janhvi will be seen in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and Roohi Afza.
