Another 'GoT' star, Indira Varma, contracts coronavirus
Another Game of Thrones alumnus has fallen prey to the novel coronavirus. After Kristofer Hivju, his co-star on the epic HBO fantasy series and British actor Indira Varma has confirmed her illness. She shared the update on Instagram. The 46-year-old Indian-origin actor is currently in London, where she was working on a stage production of The Seagull alongside fellow GoT actor Emilia Clarke.

Indira, who started her movie career with Mira Nair's 1996 film Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love, shared the news on Instagram on Wednesday. Posting a couple of happy pictures with her theater production team, Indira revealed she is suffering from the deadly virus, noting that "it's not nice." Further, she also lamented the halting of her play due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"So sad our and so many other shows around the world have gone dark affected by the COVID-19 pandemic," Indira captioned her post. Hoping to get back to work soon, Indira penned, "Urge you all (and the govt) to support us when we do [return]." "Stay safe and healthy and be kind to your fellow people," the actor wrote in conclusion.

Indira, who played Ellaria Sand on the popular eight-season HBO series, has also starred in movies such as Jinnah, Bride and Prejudice and Mindscape, and has appeared in television series like Torchwood and Luther.

The update from Indira comes merely two days after fellow Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju revealed that he had tested positive for the deadly virus. In a long note on Instagram, Kristofer said he and his family are currently under isolation in Norway, and also advised readers to follow precautions and stay healthy. Kristofer played the daunting Tormund Giantsbane in GoT.
Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Idris Elba also contracted coronavirus
Before Indira, celebrities such as Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson; Idris Elba, and Olga Kurylenko revealed they contracted the novel coronavirus. The COVID-19 pandemic has so far killed 8,987 around the world and infected over 220,000.
