What's the story

In the 1990s, Bollywood actor Govinda was a sensation with an enormous fan following. His wife, Sunita Ahuja, recently revealed that one of his fans went to extreme lengths to be close to him. The woman pretended to be a housemaid and lived in their home for 20 days. Interestingly, this ardent fan turned out to be the daughter of a minister.

Ahuja shared this intriguing incident on the podcast, Timeout With Ankit. She detailed how the fan managed to stay in their house for nearly three weeks. "There was this fan who pretended to be a house help and she stayed with us for around 20-22 days," said Ahuja. The woman's lack of domestic skills raised suspicions, leading to her eventual unmasking as a minister's daughter and Govinda fan.

Ahuja grew suspicious of the woman's late-night habits and her inability to perform basic house chores. "I was young at that time but I got suspicious. She used to stay up late and wait for Govinda," Ahuja said. "I was stunned. Finally, I got a background check...she then cried and confessed she was Govinda's fan. Then her father came and brought four cars with him." "This is the kind of fan following he had."
