'Tateeree' controversy: Haryana Police seek LOC against Badshah
What's the story
Haryana Police has lodged an FIR and begun the process of issuing a Look Out Circular (LOC) against singer Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, better known as Badshah. The move follows complaints that his song Tateeree shows schoolgirls in uniform dancing inside a Haryana Roadways bus and performing objectionable gestures. The police revealed on X, "Police teams are continuously raiding for arrest." "Strict legal action will also be taken against those sharing objectionable content."
Ongoing investigation
Badshah's song removed from YouTube
The police also revealed that the Panchkula Police have already removed the controversial song from YouTube, and efforts are underway to take it down from other social media platforms as well. The National Crime Investigation Bureau (NCIB) has also sought action against Badshah over the controversial lyrics and video.
Official response
Haryana State Commission for Women summons Badshah
The Haryana State Commission for Women has also issued a summons to Badshah. Commission chairperson Renu Bhatia said, "We have summoned Badshah on March 13. He should clarify why such lyrics and scenes were used in the song." The FIR also stated that the video shows girls in school uniforms in a school-like setting referred to as "Badshala," a distortion of the word "Pathshala." It also raised concerns over the alleged use of indecent and obscene lyrics in the song.
