What's the story

Janhvi Kapoor had a special message for her late mother Sridevi that was flashed in the prints of 'Dhadak', her debut movie which released on Friday. Before the movie begins, the message "I love you mom. This is and always was, for you -Janhvi," flashed on the big screen. The legendary actress passed away due to a cardiac arrest in Dubai earlier this year.

Janhvi revealed her conversation with Sridevi after watching 'Sairat'

At the trailer launch of 'Dhadak', Janhvi Kapoor had revealed what she and Sridevi spoke about, after watching 'Sairat'. "I saw 'Sairat' with mom at home and I remember telling her 'I wish that this was my first film and I could do something like it'," Janhvi had said. "I miss her today," Janhvi added back then, as she fought back tears.

After Sridevi's sudden demise, 'Dhadak' saved Janhvi

Sridevi's death took everyone by shock and obviously devastated Janhvi. It was 'Dhadak', which helped her cope up. Speaking about this, Janhvi said, "I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work in the film and act. It saved me in many ways." Further, she said working in 'Dhadak' was like a dream come true.

Janhvi's first movie performs exceptionally well at box office

Though, 'Dhadak' opened to mixed reviews and comparisons with 'Sairat' were obviously drawn, the movie is performing well at the box office. After earning Rs. 8.71 crore on Friday, the movie minted Rs. 11.04 crore on Saturday, taking the grand total to Rs. 19.75 crore. Apart from Janhvi, the movie stars Ishaan Khatter, Ashutosh Rana, and is helmed by Shashank Khaitan.
