Kohli asks Maharashtra FDA's Tukaram Mundhe to raid Indian kitchens
filmmaker Kunal Kohli thinks it's time for the Maharashtra FDA to check not just restaurants, but our own kitchens too.
In an Instagram post on August 23, he pointed out how expired food can sit in fridges and shelves for years, and asked Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe to "raid kitchen shelves & refrigerators in Indian Households across the country."
Kohli urges home pantry checks
Kohli encouraged everyone to do a "Chalo let's do a Tukaram Munde cleaning of our kitchen shelves & refrigerator," at home; basically, give your fridge and pantry a quick check for old or expired stuff.
His call comes as the FDA continues inspections at eateries and food delivery services across Maharashtra, cracking down on adulterated milk, junk food sold in and around schools, and the manufacture and sale of banned gutka and tobacco-containing pan masala.
So maybe it's time for all of us to give our kitchens a quick safety check!
