Kriti Sanon reunites with Tiger Shroff for 'Ganapath'
Kriti Sanon and Tiger Shroff are all set to star together for a second time with the upcoming action thriller Ganapath. The makers on Wednesday announced that they have roped in Sanon for the movie. The duo had made their Bollywood debuts together in the hit film Heropanti in 2014. The film will be directed by Vikas Bahl. Here are more details on this.
Sanon took to Instagram to share the first look of her character in Ganapath. She captioned the post, "Meet JASSI!! Super Duper Excited for this one!! Teaming up once again with my very special @tigerjackieshroff Can't wait for the shoot to begin! Lets KILL it! (sic)." In a never-seen-before avatar, the actress can be seen sporting a grungy look and riding a motorcycle.
Sanon said in a statement: "I'm thrilled to reunite with Tiger after about seven years and also to be directed by Vikas in a space that is so new to me...I'm super excited to do so on such a massive scale (sic)."
About casting Sanon, Bahl said, "Kriti not only has a riveting screen presence but she also has the persona of a superstar." "She is truly 'The Right One' to star opposite Tiger as I am confident she will make a perfect action heroine. I am extremely excited and looking forward to working with the two wonderful artists," the director added.
Sanon and Shroff had made their Hindi film debuts with producer Sajid Nadiadwala's action movie Heropanti in 2014. The film was a box office hit. A sequel to the movie titled Heropanti 2 is also in the pipeline.
Ganapath is touted to be a big-budget action thriller filled with intense action scenes. Directed by Bahl, the movie is being produced by him along with Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Jackky Bhagnani. While the pre-production work on the movie has already commenced, the film will go on floors soon. It is scheduled to be released in 2022.
Sanon is currently shooting for Bachchan Pandey, also starring Akshay Kumar and directed by Farhad Samji. She is also awaiting the release of Laxman Utekar's Mimi. Shroff, on the other hand, is also working on the sequel to Heropanti, which might get a theatrical release this year. He was last seen in Baaghi 3, co-starring actors Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh.
