Born on May 5, 1974, Farhad Samji is an Indian composer, film director, writer and actor, who is best known for directing the movie ‘Housefull 4’ (2019). He is the brother of Indian film composer Sajid Samji, and the duo is together known as Sajid-Farhad. Samji and his brother began their career as lyricists with the movie ‘Hum Kisise Kum Nahin’ in 2002. Samji has worked with his brother as lyricist in at least nine movies including ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ (2006), ‘God Tussi Great Ho’ (2008), ‘Bol Bachchan’ (2012) and ‘Housefull 3’ (2016). The duo began their writing career with the movie ‘Shiva’ in 2006, where they wrote dialogues for the movie. The duo has worked together in over 20 movies as writers, until 2018. He made his debut as a director with the 2014 action-comedy ‘Entertainment’ and has directed at least four movies and two web series until 2021. Between 2019 and 2021, Samji has independently written dialogues and screenplay of at least eight movies. He has also made special appearances in movies like ‘Baaghi 3’ and ‘Coolie No. 1’ (2020).
