After Filmfare snub, lyricist Manoj Muntashir boycotts award shows

After being snubbed at the Filmfare Awards 2020, lyricist Manoj Muntashir has said that he would not attend any award shows hereafter. Notably, Manoj, who penned Teri Mitti for Akshay Kumar-starrer film Kesari (2019), lost the Best Lyrics award to rapper Divine (Vivian Fernandes) and Ankur Tewari, who were nominated for Apna Time Aayega (Gully Boy). Here are more details on this.

'Won't attend any award show till I breathe my last'

On Saturday night, when the awards were being announced, Manoj took to Twitter to share his disappointment at losing the award, saying that he would never be able to write better lines than he wrote for Teri Mitti. "I officially announce - I won't attend any award show till I breathe my last," he wrote in a statement.

For the unversed, Manoj has previously penned songs like Galliyan (Ek Villain), Tere Sang Yaara (Rustom), and Kaun Tujhe (M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story).

Filmfare Awards were held on Saturday in Guwahati

Meanwhile, the 65th Filmfare Awards 2020 were presented on Saturday night in Guwahati, Assam. Filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Vicky Kaushal hosted the star-studded ceremony.
