Filmmaker Major Ravi has announced his next movie, Pahalgam: Op Sindoor, inspired by the tragic Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent Indian military response. The announcement was made on Sunday via social media after the film's script pooja ceremony at Mookambika Temple. Presidential Movies International Pvt Ltd is backing the pan-India project. The technical team includes Kecha Khampakdee as the action choreographer and Don Max as the editor.

Official confirmation from the superstar is still awaited. Paresh Rawal is also rumored to star in the movie.

If confirmed, the upcoming movie would mark the sixth collaboration between Mohanlal and Ravi. Their previous army-based films include Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra, Kandahar, and 1971: Beyond Borders. They also worked together in the action thriller Karma Yodha. Their first association, Keerthichakra, earned Ravi the Kerala State Film Award for Best Screenplay. Ravi is a retired Indian Army officer and former NSG commando.

Pahalgam: Op Sindoor draws its premise from the Pahalgam attack on April 22, where terrorists targeted tourists in Jammu and Kashmir, brutally killing 26 civilians. This incident led to India's retaliatory military campaign Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025. The operation involved precision strikes on numerous terror camps across Pakistan. In September, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said, "Whether part 2 or...3 [of the operation] remains to be done, we can't say...if [Pakistan] indulged in terrorist activities, they'll get a reply."
