M. Raghavan, a celebrated voice in Malayalam literature, passed away on Monday morning in Mahe at the age of 95. He was laid to rest the same evening.
Known for his powerful short stories, novels like Nankis and Avan, and thoughtful plays, Raghavan's writing touched many across generations.

Raghavan wasn't just a writer—he was also a translator who brought global works like Helene Cixous's "Dora" to Malayalam readers.
His creative journey earned him honors such as the Malayala Ratnam award and the Vaikom Mohammed Basheer award.
Born in Mahe in 1930, he spent years working with French cultural institutions before retiring as Secretary of Cultural Affairs.
He also happened to be the elder brother of writer M Mukundan.
