Modi backs AVGC tech skills push in schools, colleges
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated a post-Budget webinar and reiterated support for a nationwide push to boost careers in animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics (AVGC).
Backed by the 2026-27 Union Budget, the plan will set up AVGC Content Creator Labs in 15,000 schools and 500 colleges with help from the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT), aiming to make creative tech skills more accessible for students everywhere.
India is on the verge of a creative revolution
India's digital content scene is booming. This initiative isn't just about cool labs: it's about opening doors for young creators, building job-ready talent, and putting India on the global map for creative industries.
As Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw put it, he highlighted IICT's high-tech laboratories, described them as among the best globally, and emphasized the growing importance of the creator economy and opportunities for creators and students.
