Mumbai's Byculla Zoo: Royal Bengal tiger Shakti passes away
Entertainment
Shakti, a 9.5-year-old Royal Bengal tiger at Mumbai's Byculla Zoo, sadly died on November 17 from pneumonia-related respiratory failure.
The BMC clarified that rumors about a bone stuck in his windpipe weren't true—Shakti had started feeling unwell after skipping meals and was under close care.
What happened next & who's still at the zoo?
Even though Shakti ate a little chicken the next day, his health quickly worsened and he passed away after severe convulsions.
Tests confirmed pneumonia as the cause, and samples have been sent for more checks.
While it's a tough loss for the zoo, visitors can still see tigers Jai (3 years old) and Karishma (11.5 years old).
