Nick Reiner charged with murder of parents Rob and Michele Reiner
Entertainment
Nick Reiner, son of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, has been charged with first-degree murder after both parents were found dead in their Brentwood home on Sunday.
Police are treating the case as a homicide, and Nick is being held without bail at Twin Towers Correctional Facility.
What we know about the charges and arrest
Prosecutors say Nick faces special circumstances for multiple murders and is accused of using a knife, making the case eligible for the death penalty—though that decision hasn't been made yet.
He was arrested near USC on Sunday night, booked early Monday, and his initial $4 million bail has been revoked.
The couple is survived by their children Jake, Romy, and Tracy.
