The wedding of Indian women's cricket team star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal was postponed indefinitely on Sunday after her father, Shrinivas Mandhana, fell ill. The ceremony was set to take place in Sangli, Maharashtra. On Monday, reports emerged that even Muchhal had been taken to the hospital due to a viral infection.

According to NDTV, Muchhal was taken to a private hospital for treatment. However, the issue wasn't serious. In fact, after receiving treatment, Muchhal has already departed the hospital for the hotel. Increased acidity, along with the infection, led the groom-to-be to be hospitalized.

Mandhana's father was hospitalized after he experienced left-sided chest pain on Sunday afternoon. His son called the family doctor, who sent an ambulance to take him to the hospital. "We found out in ECG, other reports, that cardiac enzymes are elevated; hence we need to keep him in observation," Dr. Naman Shah, Mandhana's family doctor told PTI.

Mandhana's wedding postponed until her father's health improves
Considering her father's health condition, Mandhana decided to postpone her wedding until he recovers. "Smriti is very close to her father. So, she has decided to postpone the marriage... till her father is fine," said Tuhin Mishra, Mandhana's manager. As per the latest reports, if Senior Mandhana's progress is as expected, he could be discharged on Monday itself.
