Smriti-Palash's wedding postponed after her father suffers heart attack: Report
What's the story
The much-awaited wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer and Bollywood director Palash Muchhal has been postponed due to a sudden family emergency. Mandhana's father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack while preparations for the wedding were underway at their farmhouse in Samdol, Sangli. The news was confirmed to NDTV by Tuhin Mishra, Mandhana's business manager.

Srinivas was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Sangli for urgent treatment. As per family sources, both Mandhana and her immediate family members quickly reached the hospital upon hearing the news. Mishra told PTI, "Smriti's father was taken ill during breakfast. After that, an ambulance was called and rushed to the hospital, where he is under observation."

Wedding festivities called off, venue decorations being removed
Mishra added, "You know Smriti is very close to her father. She decided that until her father gets well, this marriage, which was supposed to happen today, is indefinitely postponed." The work to remove the decorations at the Samdol wedding venue is currently underway, and the couple and their families have requested privacy.

Mandhana and Muchhal were set to tie the knot on November 23 in front of close family members in Sangli, Maharashtra. Many members of the Women's World Cup-winning Indian cricket team were with Mandhana during the wedding celebrations. In recent days, several videos and pictures of their Bollywood-like pre-wedding festivities have been shared on social media. They have been dating since 2019.
