Pankaj Tripathi turns producer with YouTube series, 'Perfect Family'
What's the story
Pankaj Tripathi, the acclaimed star of Mirzapur, is making his production debut with the upcoming dramedy Perfect Family. The series, consisting of eight episodes, is a JAR Series and produced by Ajay Rai under JAR Pictures and Mohit Chabbra. It will be one of India's first long-format series on YouTube with a pay model, reported Variety.
Distribution strategy
'Perfect Family' to follow YouTube pay model
The series will be released on JAR Series's official YouTube channel, with the first two episodes being free to watch forever. The remaining six episodes can be accessed by paying a one-time fee of ₹59 per episode. This innovative distribution strategy is similar to Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par, which also chose a direct-to-YouTube release after its theatrical run.
