Parineeti Chopra backs MP Chadha's paternity leave push in India
Entertainment
Parineeti Chopra is publicly supporting her husband, MP Raghav Chadha, as he pushes to make paternity leave a legal right in India.
Chadha spoke in Parliament about how fathers should get time off too, not just mothers, so both parents can share childcare from the start.
Their campaign feels especially personal since they became parents to their son, Neer, last October.
Indian law covers maternity only
Right now, Indian law only guarantees maternity leave, so fathers miss out on early bonding and helping with postnatal recovery.
The couple hopes their push will spark change and bring Indian workplaces closer to global standards where both parents get support.
It is all about making parenting more balanced, and a little easier for new mothers and fathers alike.
