The reports further suggested that the court has sent the couple in judicial custody till September 20. Here's more.
Reportedly, Panicker alleged that he was cheated of Rs. 1.20 crore by the couple. It all started after the actor worked for a movie in 2017, which was produced by Panicker. "After the film, Panicker was told that his (Prashant) wife's father had a company in Mumbai, and if he invested in it, he would be made a director," a police official stated.
"Panicker invested Rs. 1.20 crore and after that, he came to know he was cheated. He then filed the complaint," inspector A. Prathap from Kerala police stated. Reportedly, Prashant and his wife were charged under IPC sections 420 (cheating), and 406 (criminal breach of trust).
Speaking about the arrest, Prathap revealed that he along with a seven-member team visited Mumbai for the same.
