Rahman says he never sought fame, film composing came naturally
AR Rahman, the composer, shared that he never set out to become a famous musician; it all happened naturally.
He started as a keyboard player and simply followed where his love for music took him.
"Making music for movies was not the intention; it just happened," Rahman said, choosing creative satisfaction over chasing industry trends.
Rahman credits authenticity and embraces teaching
Rahman credits his unique style, seen in projects like Bombay Dreams and Slumdog Millionaire, to staying true to himself rather than trying to impress anyone.
Even after decades in the spotlight, he admits motivation can be tough but finds purpose in teaching music.
"You know, after a while, you can become complacent or feel jaded. And to fight that, I found a purpose in my life - to educate people in music." AR Rahman explained, hoping to inspire both young fans and longtime followers with his legacy.
