What is 'Stree' all about?
'Stree' is based on 'ridiculously true phenomenon'. The story revolves around a 1990's legend from Bengaluru about a witch who used to hunt for its prey - men, to be exact. The witch abducted men and left their clothes behind, giving birth to the legend 'Nale Ba'. This movie follows the same story, with tons of humor and horror, of course!
Since day one, 'Stree' has been receiving appreciation
This Rajkummar Rao starrer has been receiving rave reviews from the critics and audience alike. They called it a 'paisa-vasool' movie. From the storyline to dialogues to the direction and performances, everything in 'Stree' was widely appreciated. The director ensured to deliver a message without losing the track of this horror-comedy, which indeed won brownie points for the movie.
The success has left the team elated, for obvious reasons!
Rao is also over the moon with the stupendous response 'Stree' has received. He shared a tweet saying, "Overwhelmed by the love and support. I can't thank you guys enough". Producer Dinesh Vijan also stated, "This kind of love and appreciation is overwhelming! This year has been super for the industry and I am elated that Stree could be part of it."
Interestingly, 'Stree' ending hints a sequel
But, that's not all. Much to the delight of the fans, 'Stree' will also have a sequel. In fact, Dinesh revealed that it will have a franchise. "The film's last two shots actually set up the sequel. We have written it as a franchise, so there will be a sequel. We are happy that the confidence in the content has paid off," he said.
2018 becomes Bollywood's incredible year
This year has turned out to be incredible for Bollywood in terms of box office collection. The industry has witnessed 10 hit movies in 2018, including 'PadMan', 'Baaghi 2', 'Raid', 'Raazi', 'Sanju', etc. And now with 'Stree' creating havoc at the box office, it is likely to be the new member of this list. Indeed, a time to celebrate for 'Stree' team!
