Ranveer Singh's 8-hour shift remark resurfaces amid Deepika Padukone's protocols

Entertainment

Ranveer Singh's old interview about shooting long hours is making the rounds again, especially since his wife Deepika Padukone has been advocating for eight-hour workdays.
Ranveer had said, "A lot of times people complain... 'You sometimes shoot 10-12 hours in an 8-hour shift, so we also have to do it.'"

Different takes on work hours

Ranveer explained that if a scene isn't done in eight hours, "it's fine" to put in some extra time.
Meanwhile, Deepika has taken a stand for shorter shifts—after becoming a mom last year, she left the film Spirit when her request for eight-hour days wasn't met.

Deepika's focus on balance

Earlier this year, Deepika told Harper's Bazaar India that eight hours is enough for both body and mind and warned against confusing overwork with dedication.
Her team follows a Monday-to-Friday schedule with family-friendly policies.
