Veteran actor Satish Shah (74) dies of kidney failure
What's the story
Veteran Bollywood actor Satish Shah (74), known for Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani, and Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho!, has passed away. He had been battling kidney-related complications and had recently undergone a transplant, reported India Today. He breathed his last around 2:30 pm at Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital. His funeral will take place on Sunday.
Career
He gained nationwide fame for 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai'
Shah became a household name through Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, co-starring Ratna Pathak Shah. He also essayed notable roles in Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Bhootnath, and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. He also judged Comedy Circus between 2007 and 2008 and made his final film appearance in Humshakals (2014). His last X post was just a day ago, when he remembered Shammi Kapoor on his birth anniversary.

Several celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to Shah. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit shared a video on X to pay tribute to the veteran actor and wrote, "A great loss to the industry." Johny Lever wrote on X, "It's hard to believe. I had spoken to him just two days ago. Satish Bhai, you will truly be missed." May Shah rest in peace.
