Family reveals details of attack
Sumit recounted that tensions began a month ago when Aniket intervened at a local Ramleela where a group of Thakur men were abusing his friend, leading to him being attacked with a rock later. Sumit said that on the night of the assault, as Aniket cut his birthday cake in a nearby field, the same group returned with rods and hockey sticks and attacked them. Both men sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a local hospital.
