Kajol Devgn, professionally known as Kajol, is one of the most commercially successful Indian actresses. She is the daughter of veteran actress Tanuja and filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee. Coming from a family with Bollywood background, Kajol starting acting at a young age. She debuted with 'Bekhudi' (1992) at the age of 16, after which she had to get back to school. However, she decided to drop out of school and pursue a full-time career in acting, which she later regretted. She was then cast in the 1993 movie 'Baazigar', which was a commercial hit. It was Kajol's first movie with Shah Rukh Khan. She gained more attention with the movie 'Yeh Dillagi' (1994) that fetched her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress nomination. In 1995, she starred opposite Khan in 'Karan Arjun' and 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'. Both movies were a hit at the Box Office. Over the next two years, Kajol gained immense popularity in the film industry. However, after 2001, her career went through commercial fluctuations. Kajol also starred in acclaimed films like 'Fanaa' (2006) and 'My Name Is Khan' (2010). In 2017, she starred opposite Dhanush in the Tamil film 'Velaiilla Pattadhari 2'. She made her digital debut with the 2021 Netflix film 'Tribhanga'.
