SS Rajamouli's 'Varanasi' has time travel twist, reveals Mahesh Babu
Mahesh Babu just revealed that SS Rajamouli's next big film, Varanasi, is going to have a time travel twist.
"It was an action-adventure mythology with time travel—all these things," he shared, confirming the teaser's hints of his character Rudhra popping up in different eras and places.
The movie drops April 7, 2027, following the massive success of RRR.

The film was announced in Hyderabad with a teaser showing Babu as Rudhra on a bull, trident in hand.
It's being made on a massive ₹1,300 crore budget (a Tollywood record) and will get an IMAX release.
Rajamouli on upcoming Ramayana sequence
Rajamouli also revealed there'll be a 60-day Ramayana sequence featuring Babu as Rama—he called it one of his most memorable shoots and admitted he got goosebumps at the photoshoot.
Priyanka Chopra joins as Mandakini and Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the villain Kumbha, with music by MM Keeravani.
