Tamil actor Srikanth questioned in cocaine trafficking case
Tamil actor Srikanth was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as part of a cocaine trafficking investigation that began after a bar fight in Nungambakkam, Chennai, in May 2025.
The case quickly grew bigger, with eight people arrested—including AIADMK functionary Prasad, who allegedly supplied cocaine to Srikanth for three years.
Investigation has revealed links to international drug cartels
Srikanth was arrested in June 2025. Actor Krishna and supplier Jaswir (aka Kevin) were also held soon after.
Over 25 people have been detained so far, and police say money trails connect to foreign nationals like a Ghanaian man named John based in Bengaluru.
The ED is looking into Srikanth's financial links to drug buying and distribution—he was summoned under anti-money laundering laws but initially skipped his date before asking for a new one.
Police also seized ₹40,000 cash and evidence as they try to unravel wider drug networks involving individuals in multiple cities.
