The winner of the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for 'Shuddh Desi Romance' (2013), Vaani Kapoor, is an actress working predominantly in Hindi cinema. After graduating in tourism studies, she was selected for an internship at Oberoi Hotels and Resorts and later signed up with Elite Model Management for modeling projects. Kapoor then signed three movies with Yash Raj Films and made her debut with 'Shuddh Desi Romance' alongside Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra, which became a hit at the box office. She won five Best Female Debut awards for her performance in the film. Next, she appeared in the Tamil remake of 'Band Baaja Baraat', titled 'Aaha Kalyanam', in 2014. While her 2016 movie 'Befikre' did not perform well at the box office, her next movie, 'War', which was released in 2019, became the highest-grossing movie of the year. In 2021, Kapoor was seen opposite Akshay Kumar in 'Bell Bottom', which was the first mainstream movie to release on the big screen after the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India.
