Wagner Moura, the Brazilian actor who shot to international fame with his role as Pablo Escobar in Netflix's Narcos, is in talks to join the Ocean's Eleven prequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film will feature Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper, with Moura likely to play the antagonist. It will be directed by Cooper and is scheduled for a June 25, 2027 release.

Prequel set during Monaco Grand Prix in 1962

While plot details are being kept under wraps, Robbie revealed at CinemaCon that the prequel will be set during the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix. The story will revolve around the parents of Danny Ocean, who is known for his role in the Las Vegas casino heist in Ocean's Eleven. "Before Danny Ocean ever stepped foot in Vegas, two masterminds taught him everything he knows, his parents," Robbie said.
