Dharmendra called 'Ikkis' an 'emotional experience' before his death

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama's Subhash K. Jha, veteran actor Dharmendra had spoken about his role in the upcoming film Ikkis before his demise in November. He said, "It is a very emotional experience for me. To do Ikkis is my way of paying a tribute to India's armed forces." "I had played a soldier in Ramanand Sagar's Lalkar many years ago. I felt so proud to be in the uniform."

Dharmendra praised Agastya Nanda's talent and director Sriram Raghavan
Dharmendra also praised his co-star, Agastya Nanda, calling him "a lovely child" and "so talented." He added, "Quite a chip off the old block. I felt he was my own grandson." The actor also spoke highly of director Sriram Raghavan, whom he had previously worked with on Johnny Gaddar. "He is a very gifted director. He knows what he is doing," Dharmendra said.

Dharmendra also spoke about his long-standing relationship with the Bachchan family. He revealed that he had worked with both Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. "My relations with the Bachchans go back a long way," he said, adding, "Jaya says she is a fan of mine." "Jaya is very fond of Esha (Deol). I never got a chance to work with Abhishek. But he is a very well brought up boy." Ikkis will mark Dharmendra's last appearance on the big screen.
