India

Heading home for Diwali or Chhath Puja? Indian Railways is making it easier this festive season by launching 763 special trains across the country.
These extra services—running daily and weekly—are aimed at handling the huge holiday rush and making travel smoother for everyone.

Over 12,000 special train services available during festive period

Thanks to expanded rail lines, there are now over 12,000 special train services available during the festive period, including about 10,700 reserved services and about 2,000 unreserved services operated by 150 trains.
Northern and East Central Railways are leading with the most trips, while other zones like Mumbai's Central Railway are also stepping up.
Tickets can be booked online or at stations, so getting home to celebrate should be a bit less stressful this time around.
