Bengaluru airport to start overstay charges for pick-up zones from Dec 11
Heads up if you're getting picked up at Bengaluru Airport—starting December 11, private vehicles in the arrival pick-up zone get only eight minutes free.
Stay longer and you'll be charged ₹150 (for 8-13 minutes) or ₹300 (for 13-18 minutes).
This move, delayed from December 8 due to IndiGo's recent disruptions, is all about making airport traffic smoother and less stressful.
What else to know
If a car stays over 18 minutes, it'll be towed and fined extra—so don't keep your ride waiting!
Commercial vehicles need to use special parking areas (first 10 minutes are free), with different zones for each terminal.
The airport tried to introduce an entry fee for pickups in May but paused after complaints; now they're giving it another go with overstay charges.
Fun fact: IndiGo also canceled 60 flights on December 11 following recent disruptions, adding even more chaos to the day.
