Bengaluru-Delhi flight tickets now pricier than Dubai, thanks to IndiGo cancelations
If you're planning to fly between Bengaluru and Delhi, brace yourself—tickets are now more expensive than flying abroad.
IndiGo canceled over 550 flights on December 4 across major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, and Hyderabad after new rules kicked in last month.
These stricter guidelines mean pilots need more rest and there are new night landing limits, which has left the airline short on crew.
Why fares shot up
With fewer flights and lots of people still needing to travel, prices have skyrocketed.
The cheapest Bengaluru-Delhi ticket now starts at ₹27K, with many going for over ₹40K—a huge jump from normal rates.
Flying international? It's actually cheaper
Here's the wild part: flying from Delhi to Dubai starts at ₹23K and Bengaluru-Dubai can be as low as ₹18K.
So right now, it's literally cheaper to fly out of the country than between two Indian metros.
IndiGo says they'll be back to full operations by February 2025—but until then, expect some pricey domestic trips.
