Amitabh Bachchan's name mysteriously appears on UP voter list
What's the story
In a bizarre incident, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan and his late father, renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, have reportedly been included in a local voter list in Uttar Pradesh. The names appeared during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Khushipura, Jhansi. However, when reporters visited the area, locals claimed they were unaware of any association between the actor and their neighborhood.
Voter list anomaly
Bachchan's name appeared with incorrect details
The voter list reportedly included Bachchan's name along with house number 54 in the Khushipura area. The entry suggested that the actor had voted, but also contained an age that didn't match public records. Dainik Bhaskar reported that house number 54 is registered to Surendra Kumar (76), son of Rajesh Kumar. Both names were listed at serial numbers 543 and 544 on the voter list.
Location discrepancy
Temple found at location of Bachchan's 'house'
The situation took an even stranger turn when officials discovered that a temple is located at the address listed as house number 54. This has raised further questions about how such discrepancies were allowed to occur during the revision process. The district administration is now under pressure to explain these anomalies and calls for an internal inquiry have grown louder.
