Bengaluru man arrested for public harassment

India

A 37-year-old man named Madan was arrested in Bengaluru's Pulakeshinagar after allegedly harassing two women—first by forcibly kissing one near a grocery store, then hugging another at a park. He's now facing charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for assault and sexual harassment.

Similar complaints had been raised before

Police used local CCTV footage to track him down, with Deputy Commissioner D Devaraja noting there have been similar complaints from the area before. Madan hasn't cooperated during questioning, and these incidents have sparked fresh worries about women's safety in Bengaluru's public spaces, highlighting the need for better security.
