Bihar-gangrape: When victim approached principal for help, he assaulted her
When a school principal in Bihar found out his minor son, along with 14 classmates, had allegedly raped a Class-10 girl, he called her to his room. Instead of helping, he asked her not to tell anyone and wash off the blood stains on her clothes. Then it got worse: when she returned to school 10 days later, he too sexually assaulted her.
The months-long trauma began in December
According to the FIR, trauma began for the Parsagarh native in December, when some schoolmates, including the principal's son, gangraped her at knifepoint in a school toilet. They also recorded the incident, warning her against telling anyone about it. As she came out, traumatized and blood-stained, the principal, Uday Kumar, and a couple of teachers saw her, but help never came.
Others were soon blackmailing her with the video
"Instead of summoning the accused and taking action, he cautioned me not to reveal the incident to anyone and made me wash the blood stains before asking me to leave for home," the girl stated in the FIR. Over the months, the news and videos of her alleged rape spread in the school, and two teachers as well as other students started blackmailing her for sex.
7 minors arrested so far, accused claim innocence
The girl finally approached police on July 6, after her father was released from prison and encouraged her to report the matter. Eighteen people have been booked under the POCSO Act. Till now, seven minors have been arrested. Others are absconding. However, all 18 have claimed innocence, alleging a conspiracy, india.com reports. They added they are ready to face all tests.
