BrahMos missiles made in Lucknow: What's up Defence Corridor

India

Big news from Lucknow: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath just flagged off the very first batch of BrahMos missiles made at the city's new aerospace facility.
This marks a big win for the Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor (UPDIC), which aims to make India more self-reliant in defense tech—and it's already created over 15,000 jobs across more than 2,500 acres.

Facility aims to make 100 missiles a year

The facility in Sarojini Nagar kicked off operations in May and is set up with advanced systems for building and testing missiles.
They're starting with a goal of making 100 missiles a year, hoping to ramp up to 150 soon. That could mean ₹150-200 crore in GST revenue every year.
At the launch event, DRDO received a ₹40 crore GST refund cheque.
